TERMS OF BOOKING
The Postpartum Company
Operated by Hazel Moir
Effective from: October 2026
These Terms of Booking apply to services provided by The Postpartum Company (“we”, “us”, “our”) to the person making the booking (“you”, “your”).
By booking our services, you agree to these Terms of Booking.
1. OUR SERVICES
The Postpartum Company provides private, midwife-led postpartum care and support, primarily within the client’s home.
Our services may include one-off postpartum support, flexible ongoing support through our Signature service, and bespoke Concierge care incorporating support from our wider trusted care circle.
Our care is designed to complement, rather than replace, NHS maternity, health visitor, GP or other medical services. You should continue to attend any routine appointments and seek appropriate medical care when required.
As a registered midwife, I provide care within my professional scope of practice and in accordance with the standards expected of registered professionals.
Our services are not an emergency or urgent medical service. If you or your baby require urgent medical attention, you should contact the appropriate NHS or emergency service.
The specific services included within your booking will be confirmed at the time of booking.
2. BOOKING YOUR CARE
Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed once we have accepted your booking and the required payment or deposit has been received.
Where care is booked during pregnancy, we will use your estimated due date to plan your anticipated period of support. Babies do not, of course, always arrive according to plan, and we will do our best to accommodate changes to your circumstances and availability where reasonably possible.
If you are booking support for after birth, please let us know as soon as your baby arrives so that we can confirm arrangements.
For planned home births, postpartum care will generally begin once your baby has been born, unless otherwise agreed.
3. PAYMENT
During pregnancy
For Signature and planned postpartum care, a 25% deposit is required to secure your booking.
The remaining balance will normally be divided into two equal instalments, with the full balance due no later than four weeks before your expected start of care.
If your baby arrives earlier than expected, the remaining balance may become payable sooner.
We will always aim to be reasonable and flexible around payment dates where possible, provided the full balance is paid at least four weeks before your expected start of care.
Postpartum and immediate bookings
If you book care after your baby has arrived, or your care is due to begin within four weeks, the full balance must be paid before care begins.
Where available at checkout, Klarna or Clearpay may be used to spread payment. However, your booking must still be fully paid before care begins where the booking falls within the four-week period described above.
This ensures that your care is fully secured and that the time and availability reserved specifically for you can be protected.
Concierge care
Concierge care is completely bespoke.
Following your consultation, you will receive one personalised quote covering your agreed package of care and support. This may include your time with Hazel alongside support coordinated through trusted members of The Postpartum Company’s wider care circle.
Your quote is the total amount payable to The Postpartum Company.
The Postpartum Company manages payment to any independent practitioners or subcontractors involved in delivering your agreed Concierge package.
Payment arrangements for Concierge care will be confirmed as part of your personalised quote and booking confirmation.
4. PRICING AND TRAVEL
All prices are quoted in pounds sterling (£).
The price confirmed at the time of booking will apply to your agreed service.
Where travel outside our usual service area is required, an additional travel charge may apply. Any additional travel costs will be agreed with you before your booking is confirmed.
Where your Concierge package includes services provided by independent practitioners or subcontractors, the agreed cost of those services will be incorporated into your single Concierge quote.
You will not normally be responsible for paying individual members of the care circle separately.
5. YOUR RIGHT TO CANCEL
Where you book our services online, by telephone or another form of distance communication, you may have a statutory right to cancel your contract within 14 days, subject to applicable consumer law.
If you ask us to begin providing services during this cancellation period, you acknowledge that you may be required to pay for services already provided if you subsequently cancel, where permitted by law.
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these Terms of Booking.
Where the service has been fully performed within the applicable cancellation period following your express request and acknowledgement, any statutory cancellation right may end in accordance with applicable law.
Information about your cancellation rights and any applicable cancellation form will be provided where required.
6. CANCELLATIONS AND CHANGES BY YOU
One-off Recovery Sessions
If you need to cancel or rearrange a Recovery Session, please provide as much notice as possible.
Where you provide more than 48 hours’ notice, we will normally try to rearrange your appointment at a mutually convenient time, subject to availability.
Where less than 48 hours’ notice is provided, we may retain an appropriate amount to reflect time reserved for you, reasonable costs incurred or loss of availability, subject always to your statutory rights.
We understand that postpartum life can be unpredictable and will always consider genuine circumstances with compassion and reasonableness.
Signature support
Signature hours are reserved specifically for you over the agreed period of support.
We will always try to accommodate reasonable changes to individual appointment times where our availability allows.
Where you cancel or substantially change your booking, any refund or amount retained will take into account the services already provided, time reserved, reasonable costs incurred and your statutory rights.
Unused hours are not automatically refundable as cash once the agreed support period has ended.
Concierge care
Concierge bookings are individually planned and may involve reserving time with Hazel and coordinating availability with independent practitioners and subcontractors.
If you need to cancel or substantially change a Concierge booking, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will discuss the available options with you and, where appropriate, rearrange services or refund any undelivered services in accordance with these Terms, applicable law and any reasonable costs already incurred.
Where an independent practitioner or subcontractor has already reserved or provided their services, their own applicable terms may also be relevant.
Compassionate circumstances
We understand that circumstances can change unexpectedly, particularly around pregnancy, birth and the postpartum period.
Where cancellation or postponement is due to serious illness, hospitalisation, bereavement or another significant unforeseen circumstance, we will approach the situation with compassion and consider what reasonable arrangements can be made.
7. CANCELLATION BY US
We reserve the right to cancel, postpone or alter a service where this is necessary due to circumstances including illness, emergency, safety concerns, circumstances beyond our reasonable control or the unavailability of an essential practitioner.
Where possible, we will offer an alternative date or suitable alternative arrangement.
If we are unable to provide a service for which you have already paid, we will refund the portion of your payment relating to services that have not been provided, subject to applicable law.
Where Concierge care includes an independent practitioner who becomes unavailable, we may offer a suitable alternative practitioner where reasonably possible and appropriate.
8. HOME VISITS AND ACCESS
For home visits, you agree to provide a reasonably safe and respectful environment for care to take place.
We reserve the right to pause, decline or end a visit where we reasonably believe that the environment presents a significant risk to our safety or the safety of another person.
This may include situations involving violence, abuse, threatening or discriminatory behaviour, unlawful activity, unsafe conditions, smoking within the home or unsecured animals presenting a safety risk.
Where possible, we will discuss concerns with you and seek a reasonable solution.
9. WHATSAPP SUPPORT
Where WhatsApp support is included within your Signature service, it is intended for non-urgent postpartum questions, reassurance and continuity of support during the agreed support period.
WhatsApp is not an emergency or urgent medical service.
Messages will be responded to during reasonable business hours and a response cannot be guaranteed immediately.
If you or your baby require urgent assessment or medical attention, please contact the appropriate NHS or emergency service rather than waiting for a WhatsApp response.
10. GIFT PURCHASES
Gift vouchers may be purchased for eligible services offered by The Postpartum Company.
Gift vouchers are subject to availability and any expiry period stated at the time of purchase. Unless otherwise stated, vouchers should be used within six months of purchase.
Gift vouchers are not redeemable for cash and cannot normally be transferred once a booking has been made, unless otherwise agreed.
Statutory consumer cancellation rights remain unaffected.
11. THE POSTPARTUM COMPANY CARE CIRCLE
As part of Concierge care, The Postpartum Company may coordinate support from a trusted network of independent practitioners and subcontractors, which may include feeding specialists, postpartum massage therapists, physiotherapists, Mother’s Helpers, photographers and other appropriate wellbeing or practical support providers.
We carefully select members of our care circle based on their qualifications, relevant experience, professional registration where applicable, DBS checks where appropriate, appropriate insurance and client feedback/reviews.
Where a specialist forms part of your Concierge package, The Postpartum Company will coordinate the service for you and include the agreed cost within your single Concierge quote.
You will not normally need to source, book or make separate payments to individual members of the care circle.
Members of the care circle are independent practitioners and subcontractors, rather than employees of The Postpartum Company.
They are responsible for maintaining their own appropriate professional qualifications, registration and insurance and for the professional services they personally provide.
If you have any concern, complaint or issue relating to a service provided by a member of the care circle, we will remain your point of contact and will do our best to support you in resolving the matter with the practitioner.
However, responsibility and liability for the specialist service itself rests with the independent practitioner who provided it, subject to your statutory rights and any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Where a particular service requires separate terms, consent or information directly from the practitioner, these will be made clear to you before the service is provided.
12. LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms of Booking excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under English law.
We will provide our own services with reasonable care and skill.
Where an independent practitioner or subcontractor provides a specialist service as part of your Concierge package, that practitioner remains responsible for the professional service they personally provide, including their own professional standards, qualifications, registration and insurance.
The Postpartum Company is responsible for its own services and contractual obligations.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.
13. SAFEGUARDING AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
The Postpartum Company takes safeguarding and professional standards seriously.
Where appropriate, members of our care circle are selected with consideration given to relevant qualifications, professional registration, DBS checks, insurance, experience and client feedback.
Different services and practitioners may have different professional regulatory requirements, and these will be considered when selecting and coordinating care.
14. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY
We will collect, use and store your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation.
We will only share information with members of the care circle where reasonably necessary to coordinate the services you have requested, with appropriate safeguards in place.
Further information about how we use your information is available in our Privacy Policy.
15. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms of Booking from time to time.
The version that applies to your booking will be the version in effect at the time your booking is confirmed, unless a change is required by law or otherwise agreed with you.
16. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Booking are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any applicable consumer rights.
